Bettina Kümmerling-Meibauer is a professor in the German Department at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. She has been a guest professor at the universities of Växjö (Sweden) and Vienna (Austria). She is the co-editor of two book series: “Children’s Literature, Culture and Cognition” (John Benjamins) and “Studien zur europäischen Kinder- und Jugendliteratur” (Universitätsverlag Winter). Her research interests include international children’s literature, picturebook research, children’s films, emergent literary, and the relationship between children’s literature and the Avantgarde. Recent publications are: The Routledge Companion to Picturebooks (ed., Routledge, 2018) and Exploring Challenging Picturebooks in Education (ed. with A.M. Ommundsen and G. Haaland; Routledge, 2021).
